In this case the Board has a discretion to exclude the press and public and, in view of the nature of the business to be transacted, it is RECOMMENDED that under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, having been satisfied that in all the circumstances of the case the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item(s) of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act.

Reason for taking the item in Part II:

The Council wishes to maintain its commercial property transactions and information relating to lease arrangements of property assets confidential so that it does not prejudice its other property dealings.

The item should be a part II item to protect the Council’s commercial confidentiality, and that of all partners in the project.

Reason for taking the item in Part II:

The public interest in not disclosing is to ensure the Council does not disclose its position regarding future Property negotiations which may lead to increased costs.

Reason for taking the item in Part II:

The report includes financial information which, if disclosed, has the potential to compromise the business affairs of the Council and third parties.

Reason for taking the item in Part II:

The report contains confidential information which relates to third party financial and business affairs.
